Beer Judge Certified Professionals Select Flagship Brews
Kihei, Hawaii (July 12, 2016) – Maui Brewing Company claimed awards at two prestigious beer competitions held recently on the mainland. The awards were given for beers entered at the 2016 Denver International Beer Competition and the 2016 U.S. Open Beer Championship. The competitions are judged by seasoned BJCP certified professional beer judges who make selections based on flavor, aroma, and appearance. Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals are awarded, and these are recognized around the world as symbols of brewing excellence.
Maui Brewing Company’s flagship and limited release beers have been recognized worldwide for quality and innovation over the years. These latest awards include:
Bikini Blonde Lager, entered in the Munich Helles Lager category, won a Gold Award at the U.S. Open Beer Championship and a Silver Award in Denver.
Coconut Hiwa Porter won Gold in the Flavored & Specialty Beer category at the Denver International Beer Competition and a Bronze medal in the Vegetable Beer category at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.
Also in Denver, Big Swell IPA and Pineapple Mana Wheat won Silver medals in the American IPA category and the Flavored & Specialty Beer category, respectively.
The recent limited release beer, Hop Kine India Pale Lager, won a Double Gold medal at Denver International Beer Competition in the International IPA category, which followed a Bronze medal it had received at the Australian International Beer Awards in April.
